Talya and Daniel Wedding

PHOTOGRAPHER'S NOTES

Imagine having live Facebook broadcast at your wedding and being updated by your many friends every few seconds. Talya and Daniel did that!

I remember the always smiling Talya and Daniel's wedding as a  huge Jewish wedding in June with over 300 family and friends and nearly 30 in the bridal party with of course, a very colourful and delightfully original wedding cake.

After seeing her images, get the inside story below.

How and when did you meet?:

We always knew each other- being Jewish it is a small community but we were never friendly.

Daniel called me out of the blue asking if I was interested in a job at a bar he worked at unfortunately I was leaving to Thailand that night and didn’t think much of it until Daniel called me the night I got back which was a surprise that he even remembered after 2 weeks being away.  He asked me out and the rest is history...

Nervous or special moment on the day:

We didn’t see each other for 5 days prior to the wedding which is a Jewish tradition, so the ceremony called the “Bedeken” which is before the actual ceremony was the most magical part of the whole day when we saw each other for the first time.

The bride’s dress:

It was a self-designed dress that was made overseas

Special guests, themes or surprises:

We have a HUGE family so having all of the families coming from all over the world to Australia was amazing.

Theme:

Winter Sparkle

Surprises:

We had 2 big projector screens one with our ‘wedding Facebook’ page and a laptop where our guest could write messages and it would continuously upload for all to see throughout the night.

The other projector, our photographer had photos he was taking, uploading live throughout the night.

Honeymoon/plans for the future:

We are both South African and soccer fans so we couldn’t pass up going to the FIFA World Cup

In fact our wedding was planned around us going there, after the World Cup frenzy we travelled to the Maldives and relaxed for an amazing week.

Future plans- We’ve joined and opened the new Hippo Creek Meat & Wine in Subiaco so a lot of our time has been spent there and we don’t see that changing in the near future- but we love it!
