How do you know what will look good before going on a wild spending spree
or even attempting to set up trial-and-error style. Simple. You can hire a professional
decorator or get some tips here directly from one!

Choice of colour is an important consideration
in the wedding planning process.
When choosing your wedding colour
theme there are many points to consider.
Most brides will ask themselves:
What is their favourite colour? What is in fashion
at the moment? Will the dress colour
suit the bridesmaids? Will this colour
photograph well? Am I able to get
flowers to complement the colour?
Will it match in with the decor of my
reception venue?
I think that there are probably no real
definitive answers. In terms of colour in
wedding decor I believe that any
colour combination can look good as
long as it is done properly. This doesn’t
have to mean spending lots of money
to achieve it either, as careful use of
colour in the right places can make all
the difference to your wedding.
For instance, if you have chosen a
strong colour like red or navy blue, it is
probably best to use this sparingly.
Of course, the furnishings at the
reception venue will also impact on
how much colour the decorator should
use. If your venue has mainly muted
tonings, high ceilings and windows,
then more colour in the decorations
would be beneficial. Or if, on the other
hand, the venue has brightly coloured
carpet, chairs and window treatments
then keep the decor colour to a minimum.
Again, there are no real hard and
fast rules about what you should and
shouldn’t have, as everyone has
different tastes. I do find these days,
however, that most brides like to keep
it simple but elegant.
