Discretion and Privacy

All couples are asked for permission during the initial interview.
It is the couple's right to request total privacy. This means no image taken on their wedding day will be shown, published or provided to others without the express permission of the Bride and/or Groom.

No Wedding too small or too large
It is a big compliment when couples who decide to have a small and simple wedding still book Lighthouse Photography. They find they just cannot compromise on the quality on their wedding photography.
The smallest wedding done by Cyrus only had the couple, the celebrant and 2 witnesses. This UK couple came to Perth to get married in a whirlwind wedding! They even setup their own unattended video camera on a tripod. On the other hand, in the last 12 months Cyrus has handled a few weddings with over 250 guests. In terms of coverage, the record goes to Stephanie and Adri's 15 hour coverage. They received an amazing 1464 edited photos and an extra 2656 reserve (not edited) photos. Both being accountants, they were very smart and purchased the copyright in their package - that must have saved them a fortune on prints for family and friends.
Upmarket and no Shortcuts
Cyrus is a member of the AIPP, Australia's peak body for professional photographers. The creative art and design going into wedding photography takes time. A 6 hour wedding will take between 20 and 30 hours of solid preparation time.
Payment Plans
Paying off the wedding is easy with Lighthouse Photography. Guidelines state that 25% is required for the deposit. This can be paid within 7 days from presentation of the quote. 8 months before the wedding the next payment of 50% is due. The final payment may be paid one month before the wedding.
Fair and Friendly
Lighthouse Photography's philosophy is to be fair and friendly. If you have an issue with any part of your wedding planning, even not related directly to the your photography coverage, Cyrus is more than happy to listen and offer possible solutions. If you have a complaint with any part of your wedding photography (pre or post wedding) and you feel Lighthouse Photography cannot assist with a proper solution then you can contact the WA branch of the AIPP for further advice or to even lodge your complaint. The AIPP ensures its members uphold ethical business practices. Part of rules state that photographers belonging to the AIPP must deal with clients with honesty and integrity, must not withhold information or mislead clients, and offer reasonable warranty for products and service.

Primary Camera
Cyrus shoots with the Canon EOS 1 Mark II N Series.
This camera is a favourite for war photographers and high-end sports photographers and can shoot an amazing 8+ photos per second.
Great for action takes and fast moving moments.
Backup Camera and Backup Equipment
It is vital that a backup camera is on hand even though the primary camera being used has an extremely small chance of a malfunction.
When once-in-a-life-time wedding photos are at stake no chances are taken and every precaution is employed.
Professional Grade Lens
Even more important than a great camera are the highest quality lenses. Cyrus uses nearly exclusively Canon's L-series Lens. (luxury, i.e. true professional grade)

Memory Cards
With over 24 GB of professional grade memory cards, running out of memory is not an option.
Cyrus over-shoots and makes no apology for this.
The typical 6 hour wedding produced more than 2000 images. Selecting around 500 from 2000 images, preparing and performing 3 stages in the editing process takes about 15-20 hours of work.

THE WEDDING DAY
Pre-Wedding
Offering a pre-wedding couple shoot a month or a week before the wedding opens up new possibilities. From signing prints to Reception Guest Books and of course great photos of you as a couple before the wedding.
Photo Style
LHP's style in capturing your wedding can be seen as relaxing, unobtrusive and candid.
Many guests and couples comment that half the time they were just not aware of the photographer's presence and are amazed at the extent of the coverage.
Speed of Photography
Around 300 photos per hour taken and a minimum of 50 photos edited per hour with LHP. Few photographers can match this.
Cyrus currently shoots with an EOS 1 Mark II D series. This camera can shoot up to an amazing 8 photos per second - blistering speed without compromising on the quality.
Expect over 2500 photos taken in an 8 hour wedding.
Projector Preview
On the same day as the wedding, played at the reception for all to see is what is called the Projector Preview.
This entertaining show simply runs in the background similar to the DJ's dinner music.
Presented on a 5 foot screen, the photos will play usually from the beginning of the reception to 30 minutes before the end of the photographic coverage.

AFTER WEDDING
Backups
All photos are kept for a guaranteed 5 years after the wedding. Backed up on an external hard-drive and also backed up separately on DVD.
In the 12 years of digital photography not one wedding has ever been lost or deleted.
Satisfaction Guarantee
If you are not satisfied with any aspect of the photography or presentation then Cyrus will personally redo this until your satisfaction is met.
This includes the selection of more photos to edit, re-editing, turning black and white photos back to colour, re-authoring DVD Photo Movies, redesigning Wedding Books.
Free Web Gallery
All Wedding couples receive a free web gallery.
These images are typically what Cyrus regards as a selection of the best photos from the wedding.
Available as a first preview to the edited photos, the couple can see and share with their family and friends world-wide.
When the wedding book is approved by the couple this too can be available to view for free on the couple's web page.
Opting out of the gallery for privacy reasons is an option of course.
Editing Rate
Another unexpected surprise is the rate of edited photos. While the guarantee is 50 images per hour of coverage, couples are often pleasantly surprised with more. Photos are selected for editing first but never culled. Non-selected photos are kept safely in the "Reserve" file.
8 - Reserve Photos
If wedding clients can spare around 1-3 hours of time, an appointment can be made to view the reserve photos.
Often when viewed, wedding couples and for some reason especially the bride's mum love selecting additional photos from the reserves for editing.
Extra cost is $1 per image or free if the Satisfaction Guarantee is not entirely met with the coverage from the edit photos.
Edited reserve photos can be made available for printing, inclusion in the wedding book and or DVD Photo Movie.
If the reserve photos are viewed before the proof book is done then these photos can also be included in the proof book.
Reserve Photos can be viewed anytime, even 5 years after the wedding.
So if you think there might be someone or something missing or you just cannot resist looking at more of your wedding photos take full advantage of either viewing the reserve or buying the copyright.
9 - Copyright
Getting the copyright simply means the couple get all the photos from their wedding.
This not only includes the edited photos but will also include the reserve photos in RAW. (Automatic conversion can be done to JPEG)
The typical 8 hour wedding would get 500 edited images + 2500 reserve photos. (best viewed during annual leave)
Copyright does cost extra, but getting the copyright option is cheaper when packaged before the wedding.
Getting copyright means you can also print your own photos.
To encourage the couple and family to print from a professional lab the couple will be given a letter explaining how to prepare photos for printing.
Mirage Photographic Lab on Hay Street in Subiaco is the preferred professional lab, they have kindly offered to give 10% discount on cash payments to LHP's clients.
Family Portraits for Returning Clients
All past wedding couples wishing to experience family portraits, baby photo shoots or other family get-to-together celebrations have access to return-client rates.
Your Wedding on Cinema
Want to invite your family and friends to a blockbuster where everyone's in the movie and the Bride and Groom are the stars? It's perfectly possible. Your wedding photos will play to your own private audience on the cinema screen followed by the mainstream movie of your choice. This is rare for Perth but Cyrus has negotiated deals around town. Add this to your package for something different.

Prints on Aluminium
For impact how about a large vivid and vibrant Aluminium-mounted image.
Canvas Prints
Canvas images are prints on canvas and stretched around a light wooden frame and come ready to hang. Particularly beautiful when printed large. While there is no limit to how long a canvas print can be for practical reasons LHP's largest advertised size is a huge 100 x 150 cms.
Metallic Prints
Printed on silver paper brings out the vivid colours, and white in particular being quite stunning.
LHP Rewards Referrals

Training Other Photographers
Cyrus invites interested photographers to apply for his on-the-spot training programmes. Accepted photographers can assist Cyrus and be the 2nd photographer.
This may also eventually lead photographers to a position as a partner for Emotion Image.
An Extra Photographer Free for Your Wedding
Cyrus has many photographers working with him. While Cyrus always shoots his own weddings he is also occasionally able to offer the wedding a second photographer at no extra charge. This is subject to his training and assisting schedule. All second photographers must meet minimum requirements but are available FOC as they are still in training. If you would like a more experienced second photographer LHP can provide this at an additional cost.
Wireless Transmission
Used in conjunction with the Projector Previews, this device is used at the final stage of celebrations, as the wedding night becomes more lively.
Attached to the camera, the wireless transmitter sends images direct to the screen for all to instantly see, laugh and enjoy.
Digital Frames
Bought in conjunction with copyright, this photo frame can hang on your wall like a normal framed print but with a new image every so often.
Reliable and Always on Time
Cyrus aims to arrive at least 15 minutes early and uses GPS Navigation. When unaware of any destinations Cyrus will do a trial run first.

Pet Friendly
Bridal Preparation is an opportunity to take photos of the family cat and dog. Many regard pets as part of the family. It is not unheard of to even get venue permission and bring your dog to the ceremony or for bridal party photos.

Credit Card Payments
LHP accepts credit card payments with a 1% surcharge. This is not a preferred payment method but is available for convenience. A maximum of $3000 applies per transaction.
Constantly Updating the Newly-Weds
After the Wedding day, LHP will send an email to the couple updating them every step of the way. Informing them first how many of the thousands of photos will be selected for editing followed by several other emails until completion.
